Reginald Omas Mamode IV presents the long anticipated Omas Sextet LP, showcasing another limb to the abundant talents of the Deenmamode family - James ‘Creole’ Thomas.
Omas Sextet is a six piece band lead by James ‘Creole’ Thomas, including various interchangeable members, but its core comprises of the Deenmamode family - Reginald Omas Mamode IV, Jeen Bassa, Mo Kolours and James ‘Creole’ Thomas.
In Europe on tour with PBDY as JP Moregun, Jeremiah had some time to link up to do a session with us. Playing "Giorna" from his EP "The Decline of Black Anakin" we were in for a special treat with Jeremiah dropping "Boss Up" a super raw previously unreleased track.
Arriving almost an hour late from the airport did not phase the legend DJ Kentaro. As soon as we saw him reach for some vinyl with tape laid across it we knew we were in for a real treat! Playing his 2001 DMC routine and an unknown set, sit back and watch the master in action.
We finally managed to synchronise with Daisuke to film this session in the intimate basement of Echoes in Dalston London. Using an Akai APC40 to control Ableton, Daisuke went about creating this live set of intricate layers of his genre defying sound.
